Sarah Wairimu Wants Call Records Of Uhuru’s Relatives And DCI Kinoti Revealed In Cohen’s Case
In a fresh twist of events in the slain dutch billionaire Tob Cohen’s case, emerging details now mention President Uhuru Kenyatta’s relatives. Now, Mobile phone records of three of the President’s kin may be required as part of evidence in the murder case.
Sarah Wairimu, Tobs widow and suspect in the murder, has demanded the State provide her with details of all calls and SMS sent by the President’s relatives for a period of three months.
The aforementioned kin are Ngengi Muigai, Uhuru’s first cousin, his wife Wangui Ngengi and Captain Muigai Kungu, also a cousin of the President.
Wairimu asked to receive records of all calls made and received between July 1st and September 30th. She did not, however, disclose the reasons why she wants the call records.
Wairimu, a key suspect in the murder case is also fighting to nullify the late billionaire’s will. She has also been fighting to get access to her home.
Writing to Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji, She has complained that the prosecution has failed to furnish her with evidence that she intends to rely on in her case.
Wairimu, together with Peter Karanja, husband to Gilgil MP Martha Wangare, have been charged with the murder of Cohen. They have since been released on bond.
In the letter dated 8th November, Wairimu further asked to be provided with three months phone records of among 23 others: Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss George Kinoti, former MP Patrick Muiruri and State prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki.
“The DPP has so far not provided any mobile phone data as evidence to be called but selectively provided the data that appears convenient to implicate our client, at times withholding the data that may not be convenient to the DCI’s much publicised theory,” reads the letter written by her lawyer Philip Murgor.
