Canadian Missionary Charged Sh60M Land Fraud
A Canadian missionary has been charged with Sh60 million land fraud.
Sheppard Nelson Jason appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina and denied the charges.
Sheppard is accused of willfully and unlawfully procuring the registration of land parcel NO. Kid Olchoro-Onyore/6827 measuring 6.15 hectares, valued at Sh60 million by falsely pretending that the said property was genuinely transferred to them, a fact you knew to be false.
It is alleged that he committed the offence jointly with another not before court, on 4th day of June 2012, at Ngong’ lands registry within Kajiado County.
The charges further stated that he conspired to defraud Jeremiah Muuya Sailoji and Rhonda Ann Baxter of their land parcel number Kajiado/Olchoro-Onyore/6827 measuring approximately 6.15 hectares.
The charge sheet stated that he committed the offence on or before, 5th day of June, 2012, at unknown place in Kenya, jointly with others not before court.
Another count stated that with intent to defraud, the missionary forged transfer of land form to Rufus Karima Kalama, the then Land Registrar Ngong.
It is alleged that he made the forgery on or before the 4 day of June 2012, at Ngong Land Registry, in Kajiado County.
The foreigner further denied a further count of forging an application for consent form, purporting it to be a genuine application signed by Sailoji and Baxter, an offence he allegedly committed on or before the 5th day of June 2012, at unknown place in Kenya.
The court ordered him to deposit cash bail of Sh200,000 to secure his release.
