Tribe Hotel Offers To Keep You Safe From Coronavirus For Sh1 Million
Luxury boutique Tribe hotel which is located in the heart of Nairobi’s sophisticated Gigiri district, adjacent to The Village Market is offering a sanctuary for anyone who wishes to self-isolate at the hotel, this exclusive accommodation will cost you Sh500,000.
Naming it SAFE-T (most probably pun intended), the exclusive 60-day accommodated retreat, which Tribe says will keep their customers from coming in contact with contagious Coronvirus elements for 60 days, will consist of a live-in team Of 35 health-screened hospitality professionals who will cater to the needs of the SAFE-T program guests.
The guests will enjoy meals made at Jik0, their own restaurant and will be offered unfettered access to all hotel facilities. All staff and guests will be required to undergo a health screening before being accepted to the program which will then enforce a strict “no in-out” policy.
For Sh577,830 ($5,500) per person per month, the SAFE-T program will offer Kenyans a self-quarantine opportunity with added guarantees like regular health screening from a 24hr live-in health team with promise for emergency helicopter airlifting to health facilities should need be.
The high price-tag comes at a time when the Kenyan government is pleading with hotels to offer discounts to Kenyans who are trying to self-isolate.
“We are appealing to you, these are people who came to the country with no plans to spend money in a hotel, if normal rates in your hotels are Sh12,000, you should be charging not more than 50pc or even 25pc of that because this is business you did not expect,” Health CS Mutahi Kagwe had stated.
