Pakistani National Charged In Sh12M Diapers Fraud Case
A Pakistan National also a director of a company has been charged at Milimani Law Courts with obtaining money by false pretenses against the law.
Muhammad Adnan Tahir is accused that on March 14, 2018 at New Be Company Limited in Embakasi area within Nairobi County being a Director of ASQAM Merchandising company (k) Limited and with intent to defraud obtained 915 packs of High count 4 Bag diapers valued at Sh 1,912,150.
He is also said to have obtained 350 packs of low count 10 packets bag diapers valued at Sh 560,000 all valued at Sh 2,481,500 with intent to defraud.
Adnan faced a second count of obtaining goods by false pretenses against the law.
He is charged that on March 19, 2018 at new Be Company, with intent to defraud obtained 900 packs of High count 4 pack bag Diapers valued at Sh 1,892,200 and 150 packs of low count 10 packets bag diapers valued at Sh 240,000,120 ceramic mugs valued at Sh 258,000 and other items valued at Sh 2,388,000 properties of the said New Be Company Limited by falsely pretending that he was in a position to pay for the goods knowing it was false.
The Director who appeared before court and denied three more counts of obtaining goods by false pretenses and being unlawful present in Kenya.
He is said to have obtained 1000 ceramic mugs valued at Sh 2,265,000 and 400 Iron Box valued at Sh 260,000 and others items all valued at Sh 2,525,000 properties of the said New Be Company Limited by falsely pretending that he was in a position to pay for the goods knowing it was false. This offense is said to have been committed on March 23, 2018.
On April 3, 2018 at the said Company being the director of ASQAM Merchandising Company limited obtained 900 pieces of water dispensers and normal standing valued at Sh 3,330,000 properties of the said new Be Company Limited by pretending that he was able to pay for the goods.
In the last count, Adnan is charged with being unlawful in Kenya against the law.
The court was informed that on February 11, 2022 at Westland area in Nairobi parklands, being a Pakistan National, he was found to be unlawful in Kenya without valid permit.
The ruling on Bond will be delivered on February 22, 2022.
