Fidel Odinga’s Property Battle To Be Settled Out Of Court
Fidel Castro Odinga’s widow Lwam Bekele through lawyer Rodger Sagana, on Wednesday told a court to give the parties involved more time to see whether they will come to an agreement regarding the late Fidel’s estate.
Ms. Lwam is pitted against Ida Odinga and Winnie Odinga. An application by lawyer John Swaka for the twins allegedly fathered by the deceased to be enjoined in the case was also granted.
Justice Aggrey Muchelule has given the parties two weeks to settle the succession disputed and directed the matter be heard on November 27, 2019.
The family is embroiled in a family battle after the Odingas accused Ms Lwam of sidelining a set of twins that Fidel sired with another woman, Phoebe Akinyi Gweno.
Justice Muchelule had on October 16 ordered a DNA test to ascertain the paternity of the twins.
Fidel Odinga died without a written a will and had acquired several properties that now sit at the centre of the dispute, Lwam had claimed she would only include the twins in the estate after they are proven to be Fidel’s.
