Donald Trump And Melania Celebrate Their 20th Wedding Anniversary
US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on January 22, 2025.
On Wednesday, Trump shared a message on his X account, praising Melania as an extraordinary wife and a wonderful mother.
“Celebrating 20 years with my beautiful wife and our incredible First Lady, Melania. You’re an extraordinary wife and a wonderful mother. Happy Anniversary,” he wrote.
The couple first met in 1998 at a Fashion Week party in New York.
Melania recalled in a 2016 interview that Trump asked for her number, but she refused, saying, “I’m not giving you my number. You give me yours, and I’ll call you.”
She wanted to test whether he would give her a business number.
He ended up providing all of his contact numbers, including his office, Mar-a-Lago, and New York home. She called him a few days later, saying she was drawn to his energy and vitality.
Trump proposed to Melania in 2004 at The Met Gala, and they wedded on January 22, 2005, at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, Florida, with a reception at Mar-a-Lago.
Their wedding was attended by 350 guests.
The couple has one son, Barron Trump, born in 2006, who is the youngest of Trump’s five children.
Trump was previously married to Ivana Trump, with whom he has three children, and Marla Maples, with whom he has one child.
Trump and Melania resumed their role as the First Family on Tuesday.
After Trump’s anniversary post, many Americans took to social media to send their congratulations.
“Happy Anniversary to you both. May the Lord bless you and keep you,” one user commented, while another expressed, “How wonderful is this.”
