A quarrel over a memory card between two brothers in Cheptais, Bungoma County, ended in tragedy when the younger sibling attacked the elder with a panga, resulting in his death.

The older brother, a Form Three student, was fatally wounded after the 15-year-old, who is in Grade Eight, struck him on the neck and head with the sharp weapon.
The attack took place inside their home on May 27 following a heated dispute.
The younger brother fled the scene, and authorities are currently searching for him.
The deceased’s body was taken to the morgue as investigations continue.
In a separate case, police are probing the murder of a 70-year-old man in Ganze, Kilifi County.
Samuel Thoya Baya was found dead in his village after being attacked. He had been out shopping in the Dzikunge area on May 27 when the incident occurred.
The motive behind this killing remains unclear. Authorities have noted an increase in attacks on elderly residents in the region and are actively working to address the issue.
In Koibatek, Baringo County, Jonathan Rono, 40, was discovered dead in Narasha Forest with severe head and hand wounds, believed to have been inflicted by a sharp object.
Initial investigations revealed that Rono left his home in Tachasis village heading to Arama centre but did not return by the evening of May 26.
The motive behind the killing remains unknown.
Meanwhile, in Kipsaina, Trans Nzoia, Humphrey Wamalwa was found dead following a violent altercation with another man over a woman.
Police reported that the attacker suspected Wamalwa of having an affair with his wife, which led to a confrontation that ended fatally.
The suspect fled from Huruma village after the incident.
