Family Reveals What Killed Former Likoni MP Masoud Mwahima
The immediate former Member of Parliament for Likoni Constituency Mwalimu Masoud Mwahima is dead.
Mwahima who was aged 78 years , died on Monday night at his Vyemani home in Likoni sub-county due to asthma complications.
According to his son Juma Mwahima, the former legislator was taken to St Thomas Hospital on Sunday where he was treated and went back home.
“Mzee was suffering from asthma and we took him to hospital where he was treated and discharged,” said Juma.
The death of Mwahima comes three weeks after that of former Chamgamwe MP Ramadhan Seif Kajembe.
The two served together in Parliament and they were among political heavyweights in Coast region during their tenure in parliament.
Mwahima before his election as Likoni MP for two terms (2007-2017) on ODM ticket, served as Mombasa Mayor and Shikaadabu Councillor.
He lost his parliamentary seat after defecting to Jubilee party in 2017 election to Mishi Mboko of ODM.
Mwahima will be buried later in the day at his Vyemani home in accordance with Islamic rites.
