Kenya Confirms The First Coronavirus Case
The ministry of health confirms first case of coronavirus in Kenya. A female Kenyan citizen who travelled back to Kenya from the UK has tested positive for the virus.
Patient travelled from Ohio to Chicago, to London, then Nairobi. She arrived here on the 5th of March. Her temperature is under control at the moment according to the officials.
The Government say they’ve traced all contacts of the patient since her arrival in Kenya.
CS Kagwe invokes the Public Health Act
Observe:
-Regularly and thoroughly wash hands with soap and water.
-Maintain a distance of 1M with anyone sneezing.
-Persons with a cough should stay at home.
-Cover mouth or nose with a handkerchief
-Stay at home if you feel unwell.
“The notion that If you have a black skin, you cannot get coronavirus is a myth. The lady is a 27 year-old black Kenyan.” CS Mutahi Kagwe clarified.
Kenyan government suspends all public gatherings, meetings, games, events, church crusades and inter-schools games. This comes after the first case of coronavirus was reported in Kenya. All visits to prisons suspended for the next 30days.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said that churches should have sanitizers to prevent the imminent spread of the virus.
