Just when her fans thought they knew everything about her Tanzanian singer Vanessa Mdee spills the beans about her life that not so many people knew about.

The singer, who is currently based in the US, revealed on Tik Tok that her journey to salvation began in Nakuru when she was eight years old.

At the time, she said she was a student at Greensteds International School when she decided to give her life to Christ during a prize giving day at the school alongside her brother G and sister Nancy.

“I was saved when I was about eight years old in Nakuru, Kenya at Greensteds International School. My mum came to visit me and my siblings on a Saturday and we ran up to her and told her we had been born again. She was so excited,” Vanessa said, explaining her mother’s disbelief.

The ‘Me and You’ hitmaker points out that she has given her life to Christ for a long time, contrary to people’s belief that she was saved recently.

“I’ve always given my life to Christ, it’s just that I had a relapse and wasn’t living right. I was not a good example either. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it,” she said.

All of this is thanks to her father, who is a devout Catholic. She says that through his service in the church as an elder, he has shown her how to live a Christian life.
