Nelson Havi Hits The Road With LSK Petition To Stop Flights From China
Hours after he was elected the Law Society of Kenya’s President, lawyer Havi is already making heads roll.
LSK petitions High Court seeking to suspend decision by state to allow further non-essential flights from China to Kenya over coronavirus.
This is coming up after the state refused to suspend the flights from China despite the risks that its coming with given the fact that China is the epicenter of the deadly virus.
Chiness Embassy went further to rub salt on the wound saying the flights by Southern China Airline will continue to operate weekly and that they’ve taken adequate measures to ensure the virus doesn’t get imported.
Ironically, China itself is getting overwhelmed. Most countries are currently banning any flight from China in stringent conditions to contain the virus from spreading.
Kenya is unsurprisingly stuck with China and allowing the flights. Kenya recieves the highest number of Chinese travelers in Africa, thought KW cancelled their flights to China, Ethiopian Airlines, Southern China Airlines still fly passengers to Nairobi.
LSK petition is timely and should be acted on with faster speed to remove the public from the careless state’s claws.
