Exposed: How Money, Corrupt Dealings Play Out At the JSC During Judges, Magistrates Recruitment Process
If you are an advocate of the high court and you intent to be a Magistrate or a Judge, then the Judicial Service Commission bosses will require you to part with some tokens of millions for you to have the job.
This millions are usually refered to us ” the senior’s lunch” and they guarantee you a protected slot in the Judiciary.
Furthermore, this rot has seen incompetent and corrupt Judges and Magistrates landing jobs in an easy way after parting with the said ‘ bribe’
Its because of this that some insiders within the investigative bodies and the Judiciary are calling for the auditing of the previous two recruitments of the High court Judges arguing that they characterized with fraud, corruption and bribery.
“Some Judges of the High Court started calling themselves ‘Justice, My Loard’ even before the interviews. They knew they had been selected and appointed for the positions even before the real interview occurred,” a source told Kenya Insights.
This scenarios were also depicted at the second recruitment faces where through some rogue JSC officers, the same fraud was committed.
Kenyans are now wondering how the Judicial Service Commission will fight corruption in the Judiciary and its own house is marred with the same rots.
For instance even before the previous interviews, Candidates new they had been selected as judges inadvance. They were just rubberstamped by the ‘ purported interviews’ .
A source aware of the matter reveals that, JSC is a seasoned bank for corrupt judicial officers and over 70percent of its interviews are pre-determined.
For instance, some Individuals who had bribed senior JSC commissioners and assured of slots within the court of appeal are crying foul.
” Yes i paid over Sh5 Million and this guy waspromised me that i will get a slot at the court of appeal, this has turned out to be a big nightmare for me, I want to ask the CJ to intervene and help eradicate corruption and bribery at the JSC,” said an agitated Judge.
The appointment for the position of the Court of appeal brought more Joy to some people who wanted to be judges at the court and had oppenly claimed that they had been selected as Judges of appeal in advance.

For instance, a reliable source told this reporter that Judges, Kadhis and Magistrates are sometimes forced to part with millions for them to get favours, promotion or safeguard there jobs.
” I have also been seeking a slot at the court of appeal but a certain female JSC commissioner told me to get some facilitation fee of Sh 4M. I felt week and sad,” he said.
He said that he was no longer interested in the position again .
The rot within the JSC is usually manifested during interviews of selected candidates too.
Some of the Judges and Magistrates who have in recent days participated in the interview have complained of harrassment and disrespect.
” I once regretted going for an interview before the JSC, the tone, the language and the manner in which they posed questions to me showed that i was just escorting others,” said a Judge.
