Some lawyers and prosecution are now raising concerns on the role of certain courts in the country.
Some claims that certain court rooms and magistrates are prohibitted from handling serious cases but only subjected to funny cases that demoralised them.
” As Prosecutor, I am tired of handling petty cases, my court has never done pleas, when will i get experience to work, i want the Cj to intervene and bring sanity in our courts,” said a prosecutor from Makadara courts.
He said that he has also received complains from other prosecutors from other courts within Nairobi Region.
A lawyer told Kenya Insights that this seclusion of magistrate has caused a lot of corruption within the Judiciary.
” Let all the magistrates and Judges handle all manner of cases, they are all lawyers and competent. I know of some courts rooms where magistrates are not allowed to take pleas,” said lawyer Albert Juma.
Juma added that some Judges and Magistrates who heads the station have denied several magistrates from taking pleas, handling high sensitive matters without a good reasons.
” All magistrates and Judges needs to be the same, let the CJ and the JSC intervenes and help sought out this mess, it is so heartbreaking and demoralised their working spirits,” said a famous advocate of the high court.
