Will The World End on Aug 2? Prophet Owuor Responds To Viral Doomsday Report
The doomsday reports last week sparked widespread reactions, with netizens recalling the Shakahola tragedy
The leadership of the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness has firmly distanced itself from reports circulating online that predict the end of the world.
In an official statement, the church, associated with Prophet Dr. David Owuor, a well-known televangelist, dismissed claims that the world will end on August 2, 2025, at midnight as false, misleading, and intended to damage the Ministry’s reputation, unity and testimony.
While warning its followers against the claims, the church emphasised that the Bible is very clear on the matter that nobody knows the day and the hour.
“These claims are false, baseless, malicious, and intended to harm not only the reputation of the ministry …. but also the unity and testimony of our Church. We urge all members and the public to refrain from sharing or entertaining unverified stories,” the official stated.
The doomsday reports last week sparked widespread reactions, with netizens recalling the Shakahola tragedy, one of Kenya’s deadliest cult-related incidents, where hundreds of followers died after their church leader allegedly ordered them to fast to death in order “to meet Jesus.
