Two Men Detained For Impersonating PS Interior Raymond Omollo
Two men from Eldoret who have been using Interior PS Raymond Omollo’s name and picture on WhatsApp to defraud members of the public have been detained,
Dennis Kipchumba and Winstone Gilbert Pikei were arraigned in court on Monday where police sought for more days to detain them as they conclude investigations.
Magistrate Dolphina Alego allowed the application by the DCI and allowed them four days to conclude investigations.
It is alleged that the suspects created a WhatsApp group with a profile picture of the PS which they have been using to request for some token from members of the Public majorly from Luo Nyanza pretending they could facilitate them secure some government Jobs.
Omollo says he was called by different people complaining of the extortion he was shocked because he didn’t have such WhatsApp page and no day had he created a page to try and fetch cash from members of the public.
The two suspects were arrested on November 2, 2024 at Subaru field in the Outcast of Eldoret town.
