Speaker Wetangula Recognises Junet Mohamed as Majority Leader
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has recognised Suna East MP Junet Mohamed as the new Leader of the Majority Party in the National Assembly.
Announcing the names of MPs awarded state honours by President William Ruto on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Wetang’ula recognised Mohamed as the Leader of the Majority party. Mohamed has previously been serving as the Leader of the Minority in the National Assembly.
“In this regard, I wish to inform the house that several honourable members of this house were conferred state honours by H.E the President during the 61st Jamhuri Day celebrations held on 12th December 2024 in recognition to their distinguished service to the nation in various capacities,” Wetang’ula stated.
“Top on the list of honors is the Honorable Junet Sheikh Moor Mohammed CBS, MB Leader of the Majority party who was conferred the Elder of Golden Heart (EGH).”
