New Twist as It Emerges Mysterious Woman Disappeared with Senator’s Ksh 20 Million Cash on Gachagua’s Impeachment Night
The incident has raised more questions than answers. Why was Senator Lomenen carrying such a large sum of cash on the night of Gachagua’s impeachment? How did the money go missing from his Syokimau home? And what is the true relationship between the senator and Wariong?
New details have surfaced connecting a mysterious woman to the disappearance of Ksh 20 million belonging to Turkana Senator James Lomenen.
The incident, which occurred on the night of October 18 last year—coinciding with the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua—has taken a dramatic turn as the woman at the center of the scandal claims to be the senator’s wife.
Trizar Theo Wariong, a resident of Ngundu in Ruai, Nairobi, has come forward with allegations that five rogue police officers raided her home, accusing her of stealing the Ksh 20 million from Senator Lomenen.
According to a police report, the officers stormed her house at around 10:00 PM, claiming she had taken the money from her estranged husband.
Wariong, however, maintains that she is the senator’s wife, adding a layer of complexity to the already murky situation.
The officers, three of whom were from Njathaini Police Station, allegedly went straight to her bedroom, where they confiscated $15,000 (approximately Ksh 1.9 million) and Ksh 200,000 from a suitcase.
Wariong claims the officers then forced her into a silver Toyota Allion, pretending to take her to Njathaini Police Station.
Instead, they drove her to various locations, including Kamulu, Ruai, and Mwiki, demanding she hand over the remainder of the alleged stolen money.
“They kept moving from one point to another, insisting she hand over the remaining amount,” the police report stated.
Wariong further alleges that she was tortured and threatened during the ordeal before being returned home in the early hours of the morning.
The incident has raised more questions than answers. Why was Senator Lomenen carrying such a large sum of cash on the night of Gachagua’s impeachment? How did the money go missing from his Syokimau home? And what is the true relationship between the senator and Wariong?
Police have launched investigations into the matter, with officers from Kamulu and Ruai visiting the scene.
Two of the three officers involved have been identified as PC Kevin Ombajo and PC David Aduda from Njathaini Police Station, while the third remains unidentified. The silver Toyota Allion (registration number KBH 139P) used in the alleged incident has been impounded at Njathaini Police Station.
This development adds a new layer of intrigue to an already sensational story. The timing of the incident, coupled with the involvement of rogue police officers and the disputed relationship between the senator and Wariong, has left the public demanding answers. As investigations continue, one thing is clear: this scandal is far from over.
Context:
The night of October 18, 2023, was a politically charged one in Kenya, marked by the impeachment of then-Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. The disappearance of Ksh 20 million belonging to a sitting senator on the same night has fueled speculation about possible political motivations behind the incident.
Gachagua claimed that senators were bribed with tens of millions each to support his impeachment.
Additionally, he alleged that MPs received bribes for the same purpose, suggesting that the process was influenced by financial incentives to remove him from office.
Was this part of the bribe cash? Why didn’t the senator report the loss of cash to a police station? And why did he wait for months before sending officers—who were not on official duty—to confront Wariong? It appears there is more to the story that the two are privy to. What can be further speculated is that this is not a clean deal, given the secrecy surrounding it.
Meanwhile, the involvement of police officers in the alleged theft and torture of Wariong raises serious concerns about the conduct of law enforcement officials.
As the story unfolds, all eyes will be on the investigations to determine whether this is a case of domestic dispute, political sabotage, or outright criminality. For now, the mystery deepens, and the search for the truth continues.
