My Own Mother Took Me to a Witchdoctor

When I tell people that the greatest enemy of my destiny was not a stranger, but my own mother, they look at me in disbelief. But that is my reality.

Growing up, I never understood why my life felt cursed. From the time I was in primary school, everything I touched collapsed. I was always sick during exams, my friends abandoned me without reason, and every opportunity I worked hard for slipped through my fingers.

But the truth hit me like thunder when an old relative revealed a dark family secret: my own mother had taken me to a witchdoctor when I was a child.

She believed that if my life was destroyed, hers would prosper. She had been promised wealth and protection if she “sacrificed” my star to dark spirits. Suddenly, everything made sense—why I always dreamed of snakes, why strange men chased me in nightmares, why I woke up tired, and why despite being educated, I remained jobless and dependent.

 

After graduating, I sent over 200 job applications without success. The few jobs I landed ended in humiliation, either I was fired without reason or the company collapsed within months. To continue reading, click here.
