Meru Governor Kawira’s Aides Involved In Blogger ‘Sniper’ Murder, Kindiki Says
Kindiki said an aide to Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza played a key role in trapping the blogger in the pretext of organizing a truce between him and the governor before eventually kidnapping and killing him.
Interior CS Kithure Kindiki appeared in the senate on Wednesday to respond to a question on the status of investigations into the abduction, torture and execution of Mr. Daniel Muthiani ‘Sniper’, who went missing on 2nd December 2023 and whose mutilated body was found dumped in River Mutonga in Tharaka Nithi on 16th December 2023.
“Investigations have so far established that on December 2023 the deceased, ‘Sniper’, was at his home when he received a call from Vincent Mureithi ‘Supuu’ who requested to meet with him at Meru town to attend an alleged meeting with the Meru Governor to discuss their differences, so that the deceased would stop attacking her on social media. Upon arrival, he was abducted and driven to Mutonga river in Chiakariga, Tharaka-Nithi County. He was killed and his body thrown into river Mutonga.”
