Man Who Claims To Be Ruto’s Son Refuses Kamiti Transfer, Says Prison Is ‘Full of Gays

A man who claims to be President William Ruto’s son has opposed a court order to transfer him from Industrial Area Prison to Kamiti, citing his belief that the latter facility is inhabited by homosexuals.
Nelson Ibrahim Kidero, also known as Nelson Muriithi, made the shocking revelation on Thursday when he appeared before Milimani Principal Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi for a case involving unlawful entry into parliamentary precincts.
The court had ordered Kidero to undergo a mental assessment at Kenyatta National Hospital before taking a plea for charges under the Parliamentary Powers and Privileges Act 2017.
However, when the magistrate suggested transferring him to Kamiti Prison while awaiting the assessment, Kidero vehemently objected.
“No, nirudishe Industrial Area, Kamiti ni kwa mashoga,” Kidero told the court, his statement drawing laughter from court attendants.
The accused had earlier complained about conditions at Industrial Area Prison, claiming the facility was haunted by demons and that he was the only person capable of dealing with them.
“There are two prisons: kuna Industrial Area na kuna Kamiti. In the Industrial Area kuna ma demons na hakuna mtu anaeza toa ma demons kuniliko, na Kamiti hakuna demons nilikua hapo,” he explained to the court.
Despite his complaints about supernatural presence at Industrial Area Prison, Kidero preferred to remain there rather than be transferred to Kamiti.
He acknowledged that inmates at Industrial Area are well-fed, receiving meals including githeri and ugali, but expressed his preference to return to his normal life in Kayole.
“Industrial Area ni venye mnafungiwa watu wengi na mnalishwa vizuri huko; mnakulishwa githeri, mnakulishwa ugali. Mimi sitaki hio heri niende kwetu nitesekee kwetu Kayole, of which najua sitateseka,” Kidero said.
The case stems from incidents on July 30 and August 7, 2025, when Kidero was allegedly found at Bunge Towers without lawful authority.
On the first occasion, he was discovered at the reception area of the 24th floor at around 6:45am, while the second incident occurred in the parking area at around 9:30pm.
Kidero has previously told the court that he was searching for his 13 wives, including socialite Amber Ray, when he unlawfully accessed the parliamentary building on three separate occasions.
The court had initially ordered a mental assessment in August after the Director of Public Prosecutions requested 14 days to allow for the evaluation.
However, the assessment has been delayed due to an overwhelming number of patients awaiting similar services at Kenyatta National Hospital.
When the magistrate inquired about arranging another assessment appointment through a police officer, Kidero suggested the officer should undergo the mental evaluation instead.
“Nooo, me, I don’t want any arrangement; hata yeye aende hospitali atibiwe akili yake,” he told the court, again prompting laughter from those present.
Magistrate Ekhubi has maintained that the mental assessment is crucial before allowing Kidero to enter a plea, noting that his statements in court suggest he may not be fit to understand the charges against him.
The case has been adjourned pending the completion of the mental health evaluation, with Kidero remaining at Industrial Area Prison despite his complaints about its alleged supernatural inhabitants.
