It is now official that a new political formation is in town!

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his counterparts Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula, together with KANU National Chairperson Gideon Moi on Thursday unveilled the ‘One Kenya Alliance’.

According to the quartet, Kenya’s current politics is not only toxic but also divides Kenyans, with One Kenya Alliance looking into uniting the country and delivering a transformative agenda.

“Today, we mark the beginning of a journey with a clear purpose to unite this country through a transformative agenda that seeks to create equal opportunities for all Kenyans. This alliance is a breath of fresh air from the toxic and divisive politics this country has witnessed in the recent past,” said Wetangula on behalf of the other One Kenya Alliance principals.

The new political formation is optimistic that recent by-election wins its parties have enjoyed is a clear sign that Kenya is ready for trnasformational leadership.

“The election of Senator Kavindu has elevated the Senate of Kenya to achieve the two-thirds gender parity rule. Therefore, we’re proud that Senator Kavindu is a product of this alliance, which strongly believes in supporting and strengthening women’s participation in elective politics and governance in our country,” added Wetangula.

The four principals have also rallied Kenyans to support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

“Going forward, BBI is the agenda that this alliance would wish to keenly focus on by persuading Kenyans to fully support in order to unite our country and ensure that everyone benefits from the dividends of Devolution.”

Forthcoming by-elections

Meanwhile, One Kenya Alliance is pulling out of the Garissa, Bonchari and the Juja by-elections in favour of the Jubilee Party candidates in the respective by-elections.

“One Kenya Alliance will not field candidates in the Garissa senatorial, Juja parliamentary and Bonchari parliamentary contest. We shall support the Jubilee candidates in those regions and even show them some tricks on how to win the elections,” Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka said.
