Woman who posed as a senior court official charged with Sh 172k Fraud
A woman who posed as a senior court official and defrauded a businesswoman some Sh172,000 on the ground that she was in a position to help her release her relative who had been charged and convicted contrary to the law.
The Kin to the complainant had been jailed at Kibera Law Courts,the complainants are at great Sorrow since they say they trusted the lady who even wanted over Sh 350,000.
Nancy Wanjiru Muturi was charged before Kibera Chief Magistrate Ann Mwangi where she denied the charges.
The court heard that on diverse dates between January 5 , 2023 and February 18, 2023 in Upper Hill Area within Nairobi County obtained the said amount from Teresia Mugure Wachuka contrary to the law.
In court the prosecution requested that the accused person be granted a tougher bond terms.
The magistrate released him on Sh 50,000 cash bail with a surety of the same amount.
The case will be mentioned next week for a pre-trial and further directions
