Media personality Stephen Letoo has stepped aside from the ceremonial Men’s Conference seat effective today.

Letoo who recently got married in a largely publicized wedding ceremony held at William ole Ntimama stadium on April 20, failed to meet the expectations of his fans when he only wedded one lady as opposed to a polygamist setup as he had made many to believe he was.

The Citizen TV journalist made the announcement when he arrived from Zanzibar where he has been spending a better part of his honeymoon with the wife.

“After soul searching, I have arrived at a decision to step down as the chairman of the Men’s conference and I have tendered my resignation to the office of the Men’s conference based in Nairobi and I will cease being the chairman with immediate effect,” Letoo said.

He added that he arrived at the decision after a wide consultation with friends and allies in Kenya and beyond.

“I will allow my members to seek my replacement and I want to assure them that I will be available for consultations and any advices, if they seek them,” he said.

Letoo has been under immense pressure from the members who felt he was a letdown for only marrying one wife thereby making him unsuitable for the big position that was previously held by the late Mzee Kibor who was a polygamist.

In his recorded resignation speech seen by Kenya Insights, Letoo signed off by thanking his fans for the support and wished the incoming chairman well.

“I want to encourage the incoming chairman that being the head of men is not for the faint-hearted people and I want him to continue to advocate for rights of boy-child and men regardless of who they are, whether single, married, polygamous or any other status,” Letoo said.

It is not clear who will take after him but one thing is for sure, that person must be polygamous abd as for now, the only trending figure is former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya who’s swimming in the fresh waters of young Mary Biketi.
