Olive Burrows Exits NTV
NTV news anchor Olive Burrows has announced her departure from Nation Media Group after six years stint.
Burrows anchored her last show on Wednesday.
“This is not goodbye, it is see you later.” She said in the broadcast.
“You guys have been working to see me cry today, I will wait for it to start raining (laughs) then I’ll blame it on the sound,” she said after watching colleagues give their goodbye messages.
Media sources privy to the arrangement say she’ll be joining Citizen TV to replace Victoria Rubadiri who left the Royal Media Services owned station to join CNN.
She went on to say that the station took a chance on her, and the chance has paid off in many aspects of her life, including solid friendships.
She added that she will always remain friends with her colleagues even as she leaves the next phase of her career.
“I love you guys. It has been an absolute privilege working here at the Nation Media Group for the last six years.
“They took a chance on me, and it has paid off, not just careerwise but also the friendships, and we remain comrades in arms because this craft we are in together for the greater good of Kenyans,” Burrows said.
Before joining NTV, she worked as a news anchor at Capital FM.
Rubadiri had been anchoring the weekend news alongside veteran Jeff Koinange.
