Kenya Power Confirms Nationwide Blackout
Kenya Power has confirmed a widespread power outage says supply in most parts of the country caused by system disturbance on the grid.
“At 5:40 PM (EAT) today, Thursday, 2nd May 2024, we experienced a system disturbance on the grid, resulting in power supply disruption in most parts of the country.” It confirmed in a statement.
The company has reassured Kenyans that efforts to restore power in affected regions is currently underway.
“We regret any inconvenience caused and urge for patience from our customers as we work towards restoring normal power supply at the earliest opportunity.”
The company said it will issue further updates on the progress of the power restoration exercise within two hours.
This comes amid heavy rains that’s ravaging most parts of the country with deadly floods.
