Drama Along Thika Road as Man Undresses After Conning Me in Fake Gold Deal
I never thought I would live to see the man who stole from me strip in broad daylight like a mad person. But it happened. Right there on Thika Road. Cars stopped. People screamed. Phones came out to record. And there he was. The same man who took my fifty thousand shillings in the name of a gold business. He stood in the middle of the road tearing off his clothes and shouting things that made no sense.
Let me start from the beginning.
I am a mother of two. I run a small salon in Roysambu. Business has been hard, but I keep pushing. So when a charming man approached me at a carwash with a golden offer, I listened. He claimed he was a gold dealer with links in Dubai and South Africa. He said I could join his circle and make good profit. All I had to do was give him fifty thousand as entry capital for a shared shipment. I was hesitant, but he was too smooth. He showed me samples. He even took me to an office in Westlands. There were people working there. Desks. Computers. Documents. I believed it.
I gave him the money in cash. He promised to call me in four days. When the days passed and my calls went unanswered, I knew I had been played. I returned to the office. It was locked. The neighbours said no one had been there for days. That man had vanished.
I cried like a child. I could not sleep. I was angry at myself. How could I fall for such lies? That money was for my children’s school fees. I started feeling sick.
