Soon after, many people were quick to conclude and point out that she got the virus from Kenya, which is currently listed on the American COVID-19 travel advisory list.
However, in a video post she made on her Instagram, she was quick to clarify that she didn’t get it from Kenya. She said, “Yes, I have been travelling. Yes, I went to Nairobi; I had an amazing time. No, I did not get COVID from travelling, I did not get COVID from being in Africa or anything like that.”

Ashanti was scheduled to take part in a musical battle on the popular online show “Verzuz” against Keyshia Cole which was subsequently cancelled owing to her positive status. The show has now been pushed to January 9th 2021.
