State Warns Against Fraudsters On Controversial Parcels Of Land Opposite City Cabanas
Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has Wednesday warned Kenyans against land fraudsters purporting to sell two parcels of land owned by the Authority opposite City Cabanas along Mombasa Road.
The land in question according to the authority was acquired through compulsory acquisition.
Through a public notice, KURA Director-General Silas Kinoti said the authority had acquired two parcels of land, registration numbers L.R. No 209/14694/1 and L.R. No. 209/14694/2, situated between the Nairobi Expressway, Operational and Maintenance offices and Ramtons building opposite City Cabanas along Mombasa Road.
Kinoti further explains that the land was acquired from Strategic Industries in 2014 for the sole purpose of completing the construction of the City Cabanas interchange.
Kinoti in light of this is advising the public not to make payments or to engage with any entities claiming that they own the land.
“Any person(s) purchasing the said portion of parcels, registration numbers L.R. No 209/14694/1 and L.R. No. 209/14694/2, shall do so at their own risk,” he said.
In conclusion, the DG said that KURA shall not honour the agreements, contracts or arrangements entered into with persons purporting to have authority to transaction the said parcel of land whether in the manner above described or in respect of such transaction.
KURA is a state agency established under the Roads Act 2007 to manage, develop, rehabilitate and maintain the national urban road network.
