MOI was a serious political adult; fully in charge of the national homestead he headed. He genuinely cared for National Unity, running a Govt largely representative of the face of Kenya. He fully protected our territorial borders. History will judge this man kindly. #MoiDay pic.twitter.com/dcLmHEaUid

"In 1989, President Moi wanted to destroy Uhuru Park. In its place, the government would build a 62-storey skyscraper & a 4-storey statute of Moi. They'd call it Times Tower Complex. One person stood in their way, Wangari Maathai." – @cjgea #MoiDaypic.twitter.com/EnWtGAxgmo

For the thousands of victims of Wagalla Massacre, Garissa Massacre and the many detentions under Moi, there’s #NothingToCelebrateKe on #MoiDay.
It would have been great if instead JTRC report was fully adopted & implemented.

Happy Moi Day? This is joking with Kenyan Intellects! We stopped this about 9 years ago! Why is the government so mean and greedy when it comes to squandering public money? I wonder what his senior counsel James Orengo would say on this matter! @orengo_james #NothingToCelebrateKE
