Moi University Council Restructured
The appointment of Moi University Council Chairman Dr Humphrey Kimani Njoroge has been revoked by Education CS Julius Ogamba.
In a Gazette Notice dated January 17, CS Ogamba named Professor Noah Midamba the new council chair.
Also sent home are four others who have been serving as council members.
They include Prof. Sarah Samiji Momanyi, Christopher Khaemba, Eusilah Jepkosgei Ngeny and Susan Amlango Aletia.
The CS consequently appointed four new members of the council to replace those fired.
The new members are Prof Ronald Wasike, Dr Mercy Nyambura Kanyara, Dr Edward Sambili and Ann Waceke Makori.
“The new appointments take effect from January 17th 2025,” said CS Ogamba in the gazette notice.
During his last visit to the university in December last year, CS Ogamba pledged to make far-reaching changes at the university to ensure the institution is out of its challenges.
“Moi University is in a bad state it’s now mainly because of several issues,“ said Ogamba.
President William Ruto two weeks ago also visited Uasin Gishu County and said the government was working to restore normalcy at the university.
He said he had appointed a committee to look into the challenges at Moi University and come up with solutions to challenges facing the institutions.
