Uhuru Orders Kenya Meat Commission To Be Run By The Military
Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya has directed the Kenya Meat Commission Managing Director James Ole Seriani to commence a seamless transfer of the meat processor to the Ministry of Defence with immediate effect.
The move follows the transfer of Ministerial Responsibilities of the Kenya Meat Commission to the Ministry of Defence by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Through an internal memo dated 7thSeptember 2020, CS Munya directed the managing director to give an update on the process within the next two weeks.
The memo reads, “Ensure that you coordinate the entire exercise with the National Treasury and transfer the associated budgets at the next scheduled Supplementary Budget. You are required to submit a fortnight report to my office on the progress made.
