Maaajabu! Wife Pretends to Be a Barmaid and Catches Husband Red-Handed Trying to Hire Her for a Night
A woman in Thika caused a stir on the evening after posing as a barmaid in a popular club and catching her husband attempting to hire her for the night without recognising her.
The shocking scene unfolded at a dimly lit club in Makongeni Estate, where the woman, 33, said she had grown suspicious of her husband’s constant late-night outings and disappearing money. She decided to follow him secretly and pose as a barmaid to confirm her suspicions.
“I had heard stories and even found strange numbers in his pocket once. This time I said, let me catch him myself,” she told reporters after the incident.
She borrowed a wig and some makeup from a friend, changed her outfit, and entered the club earlier that evening. With the help of one of the real waitresses, she was able to move around freely serving drinks and mingling with customers.
To her utter shock, her husband of nine years walked in around 9:15 p.m., sat at a corner table and began flirting with her almost immediately. He ordered drinks for both of them and eventually leaned in to ask if she could “keep him company for the night” — offering her Sh2,500 plus cab fare.
“He didn’t even know it was me. I wanted to scream but decided to keep calm. I played along just to see how far he would go,” she said.
Witnesses say things escalated quickly when the woman agreed to leave with him. Just as they reached the club’s parking lot, she revealed her identity in front of stunned onlookers, shouting, “You want to hire your own wife?”
The man reportedly froze, then tried to laugh it off, claiming it was “just a test.” However, the damage had already been done. Club patrons gathered around as the wife scolded him publicly, throwing the wig at his face and demanding an apology. To read more, click here.
