How Senators Voted In Sonko’s Impeachment Motion

Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi was on Thursday night impeached.

Twenty Seven senators out of the twenty-four thresholds upheld the decision of the Nairobi county assembly to impeach Governor Sonko.

Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr and his Nairobi counterpart Johnson Sakaja abstained from voting for or against the motion.

Sixteen legislators mostly allied to DP William Ruto voted against the motion.

Here is how senators voted against the four charges that Sonko was facing that included gross violation of the constitution, abuse of office, gross misconduct and crime under National Law.
