Russia’s Vladimir Putin congratulated US President-elect Joe Biden on Tuesday for his recent election victory.
In a telegram published on the Kremlin’s website, Putin wished Biden “every success” and expressed confidence that Moscow and Washington could contribute to solving the problems and challenges facing the world despite their differences, as both countries “bear special responsibility for global security and stability.”
“With this in mind, Russian-American cooperation based on the principles of equality and mutual respect would meet the interests of the peoples of both countries and the entire international community,” said the telegram.
