EACC Sue Pastor Ng’ang’a For Grabbing Public Land Where His Church Sits
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has moved to court seeking to recover Prime land allegedly grabbed from the Kenya Railways Corporation in Nairobi CBD valued at 1.6 billion shillings. Meanwhile, the Corporation has denied claims of demolishing a section of Bishop Margret Wanjiru’s church on Wednesday saying a wall was put up to secure a national security installation in the area.
In the suit filed before the Environment and Lands Court, EACC has asked the Court to nullify the titles illegally being held by private entities and high profile individuals and ordered the Defendants to pay the Government 1.6 Billion Shillings as compensation due to the illegal occupation of the land for over 25 years.
A company linked to the family of the late Nicholas Biwot, Rubis Energy, Maina Ng’ang’a’s Neno Evangelism Centre, are some of the Defendants in the alleged illegal occupation of the land along the Haile Selassie and Uhuru Highway junction which was originally owned by the Kenya Railways Corporation.
Bishop Wanjiru claimed that a group of armed police officers on Wednesday demolished a wall that stands on the land that separates her church compound from Kenya Railways. She accused President William Ruto of betraying her despite the fact that she campaigned for him in 2022.
