CS Matiangi: Diwali Is Not A Kenyan Public Holiday

The government through the Cabinet secretary for Interior Fred Matiangi has dissmissed a fake gazette notice that has been doing rounds on social media stating that on Monday, October 28 is a public holiday.

“Kindly ignore a gazette notice circulating on social media claiming Monday 28th October 2019 to be a public holiday. Monday 28th remains a normal working day,” a statement from the Ministry read.

Diwali is a week-long festival that is celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs . It is also known as the festival of lights.
