Sonko’s Headgear Can Detect Persons With Coronavirus Symptom
Nairobi governor Mike Sonko was on Sunday spotted wearing a RoboCop-style artificial intelligence Virtual Reality headset which can automatically identify people who could have the coronavirus.
In his first appearance in the public eye since he handed over key functions of the county. the controversial governor who is facing graft charges was a sight to behold, in all white from head to toe, he wore the VR headset complemented with a face mask as he joined county health officials who were fumigating the streets of Nairobi at night.
The device Sonko was wearing is the iDream1260, this device is said to adopt air pressure, vibration, and heat compression massaging technology to massage the regions around your head and eyes. The device can also detect the temperature of someone with the novel Coronavirus just by looking at them from a fair distance.
This technology was first used in China to detect the virus by fitting helmets powered by AI with a camera that could scan the body temperatures of anyone within a five-metre (16-foot) radius.
The helmets in China which are now used for epidemic prevention and control have a small alarm which is triggered when somebody is scanned with a body temperature higher than 37.3 degrees Celsius. The devices have been effective and been used to check temperatures in several cities across China including Shanghai, Chengdu, and Shenzhen.
