Foreigners Rayan Abukar Ali And Hibo Mohamud Abdulahi Arraigned For Assault, Court Issues Warrant Of Arrest Of Fihima Yusuf Abdillahi
Two suspected foreigners, ‘Rayan Abukar Ali, also known as Rayan Bajaj, and Hibo Mohamud Abdullahi, were early today arraigned in court to face assault charges even after the same court issued a warrant of arrest against Fihima Yusuf Abdillahi, popularly known as Fahima Qoje, who failed to turn up on the ground that she was unwell.
The said women are said to have a serious connection with some Somali politicians who are surrounded by controversies and shoddy business deals.
‘The warrant of arrest is at this moment issued against the first accused persons; I direct the matter to be mentioned on October 8 for further directions,’ said Hon. Samson Temu.
The accused person is charged alongside Rayan Abukar Ali and Hibo Mohamud Abdulloahi, who were both present in court when the matter came up for mention. According to the chargesheet, the accused persons are jointly charged that on July 24, 2024, at Lenox apartments in the Kilimani area in Dagoreti Sub-County, they jointly assaulted the complainant, occasioning her bodily harm.
Their lawyers told the court that the first accused person was unwell and provided a purported medical document in court to prove her illness but was dismissed by both the victim’s lawyer and the prosecution.
”I request the court to dismiss the purported medical documents and issue a warrant of arrest against the first accused person; the document does not tell the kind of illness the accused person is suffering from or whether she is bedridden or not,” said Samson Ng’etich, the prosecutor.
According to the court papers, the accused persons are out on kenya shillings 10,000 cash bail each with a surety of the same amount.
The court directed that the matter proceed later next month for hearing.
