Ex-MCA who threatens to order his gang to kill cops in Transmara charged with creating disturbance, Obstruction

An Narok ex-MCA who allegedly obstructed some police officers from doing their work and threatened to order some residents to unleash arrows, sharp sticks, and bows on them has been charged in court.

Stanley Langat was charged before a Narok Magistrate, where he denied the charges.

The court heard that on September 13, 2024, at Tarakwel village in Transmara Sub-County, she jointly with others created disturbances by threatening to order some police officers to be attacked by arrows, bows, and sharp sticks.

They are said to have said, “HHi tape measure ikatwe ama shida itatokea hapa, Mrushie hii watu mishale, hii tractor itachomwa,” threatening to harm the police officers.

They were charged with the second count of obstructing inspector Patrick Karani, police constable Richard Kaimoi, police constable Joseph Njoroge, Police constable Peter Onyango, police constable Moses Jahazi, and Police constable Daniel Mwanzia, contrary to the law.

The prosecution told the court that the accused person was a wanted man in a case in which he is accused of threatening his wife.

It told the court that the accused persons bond was even cancelled in the same case.

It further told me to grant him tough bond terms.

He was released on a bond of Sh 500,000 with an alternative cash bail of Sh 100,000.

The case will proceed later this month for further directions.
