Long gone are the days you had to sit in queues for hours on end to receive customer care services at banks, with new technology everyday, users can get access to their information online in an instance using nobile apps and social media customer service.

The new technology, however, is far from perfect.

Due to the Kenya’s good mobile and internet penetration, many users often take advantage of this to get customer service, such was the case of one Twitter user. Looking to access customer information from Kenya Commercial Bank’s (KCB) which is normally conveyed via direct messages or DM for privacy purposes, KCB, via a tweet laid bare his account balance for all to see.

The tweet has since been deleted, perhaps pointing out to human error. However, not before Kenyans gave their two cents about the exposure since financial matters are sensitive.
